Norwegian angling guide Lasse Boe regards float fishing as probably one of his most cherished methods he uses for targeting halibut. Ever since his first surface encounter with a halibut many years ago, he’s wanted to catch one on a float rig. “When I started to target them specifically from the shore with a float rig years ago, it took some time to figure out how to do it. Float fishing for halibut from the boat is old news, but from the shore this is still new territory.
